BISHOP JOHN BROWN

THE MAGNAMENIOUS JOURNEY

My name is Bishop John Brown Jr, and I am the Pastor and Overseer of the Gethsemane Church of God, Inc. located at 308 S. Walnut Street, South Bend, Indiana. The Church motto is “Christ is the answer.”

This Ministry was founded in 1992, by my father, to provide a place of worship for all people. While praising God with one-word testimonies, during a praise and worship service, the word magnamenious came to me, when my time came to speak. Yes, this is true. I had never heard it before, and I did not even know what it meant. I just knew that it sounded really good to me and from that time on, every time it was my turn to give a one-word testimony, magnamenious became my word…my God given word and I was excited about God’s gift to me! This went on for a couple of years. My excitement continued to grow, and my church family continued to make fun of me.

One service, as I was preparing to speak, I was informed that members of my daughter’s sorority (Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc), who I affectionately call “the Blue people” were going to be attending the service. It was at that time God not only gave me an opportunity to share my word, but he also gave me the definition. I was already happy to share a word that I did not know the meaning of and now I would be sharing that word with joy, walking in understanding and power.

Magna-Men-ious

· Magna-(latin)- great.

· Men-pural (more than)

· ious- a suffix “possessing”’ full of given quality

The meaning of my word: Nobody greater! It’s about the greatest man who ever lived! Col 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Great is our Lord and greatly to be praised. Now that I had the meaning, it had to be shared.  We started the process of receiving the trademark and the word was officially registered July19, 2022. I am truly excited to be able to share my word and to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ. We serve a “Magnamenious God”, and the best is yet to come!

Love and Blessings to you all.
